Professional Bio
Stephen worked as an Apprentice in Chicago, then a Registered Architect in Houston and Louisiana, at times serving as Project Architect for projects more than $50 million. Serving as Senior Architect for the City of Baton Rouge starting 2016, he is a Project Manager/City Representative on building projects, instrumental in securing the city’s first LEED certified municipal buildings. Stephen served on the USGBC Louisiana Board of Directors 2020-21, has provided tours of the historic LEED Gold Public Works & Planning Center where he works. Governor Jeff Landry selected him for the Louisiana Board of Architectural Examiners in 2025.
An avid runner and cyclist, he is a veteran of 5 Louisiana Half Marathons, 3 New Orleans Marathons, 5 Louisiana Tour de Cure Centuries, and has cycled on many trails and routes around Louisiana and parts of the United States. https://stephenmlong.net
