Professional Bio
Stephen worked as an Apprentice in Chicago, as a Registered Architect in Houston and Louisiana, at times serving as Project Architect for projects more than $50 million. Serving as Senior Architect for the City of Baton Rouge starting 2016, Stephen is a Project Manager and City Representative on building projects, instrumental in securing the city’s first LEED certified municipal buildings, for projects earning a Rose Award and Sustainability Leadership Award. Stephen served on the USGBC Louisiana Board of Directors 2020-21, has provided tours of the historic Public Works & Planning Center where he works, recently at Forward Symposium 2023. For the Capital Region Planning Commission, he was a panelist in a Climate Action Town Hall in 2024. Governor Landry selected him for the Louisiana Board of Architectural Examiners in 2025.
Stephen is an avid runner and cyclist. A veteran of 5 Louisiana Half Marathons, 3 New Orleans Marathons, and 5 Louisiana Tour de Cure Centuries, he has cycled on many trails and routes around Louisiana and parts of the United States. https://stephenmlong.net
