GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Chief Architect, performs professional architectural and supervisory work as a licensed professional architect within the Department of Buildings & Grounds. Work involves supervising and performing advanced level evaluation and preparation of architectural plans, specifications, contracts, and reports for capital improvement building construction projects. Employees work closely with design professionals, contractors, consultants, and other City-Parish employees assigned to City-Parish projects. Work is performed with independent judgment in accordance with established policies, rules, and regulations and is reviewed through reports and results obtained. Performs other work as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in architecture and three years of post-license experience in the practice of professional architecture. SUBSTITUTIONS Any equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS (Unless otherwise specified below, must possess at the time of appointment and must be maintained current throughout employment in this classification.) Possession of a license to practice professional architecture as issued by the Louisiana State Board of Architectural Examiners. Position(s) of this classification may require a valid Louisiana driver's license. If license is required, must be maintained throughout employment in this position.
